Rumsfeld: We Need to Counter Anti-U.S. Lies

One of the military's new wartime challenges is dealing with global media that can instantly spread around the world information that may be false or damaging to U.S. interests, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said Wednesday.

The United States needs to respond to anti-American messages with greater agility and speed if it is to win the ideological struggle with Islamic extremists, Rumsfeld said in a speech to members of the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia

He's right. And the MSM needs to decide which side they are on. If they do not, they will be torn asunder in the ensuing brawl.

I don't know if you recall a comment I made about the press years ago in another "forum", but it's apropos to this topic:

"It's easy to blame the press for all this...stuff, because the press feed upon and encourage discord and strife. That is, after all, news -- and they will happily report it, all the way until the last building lies in a heap of smoldering ashes."
