So which is it?

Europe's Boys of Jihad
By Sebastian Rotella, LA Times Staff writer

"The trajectory is changing," said Marc Sageman, a forensic psychiatrist at the University of Pennsylvania and a former CIA officer. "Extremism is now appealing to younger and younger people."

There's no doubt that European culture is more friendly to creating terrorists than our own. Here we have not only more freedoms, but better economic conditions that sidetrack the young from murder and mayhem to acruing wealth and toys.

But also from across the Atlantic comes this story from the UK's Independent,
Fear and hatred of Muslims on increase in young generation.

Here the tables are turned, and young adults and teens are considerably more anti-Islam. While the Independent likes to moan and groan about the intolerance of it all, I can only say that peace loving Muslims have done as much to contribute to the rising animosity towards Islam by their silent condoning of terrorist actions around the world.

Two stories, and two completely different perspectives on youth and jihad. Which is it? I personally hope it's the latter.
