This is regard to Harvard Dean Summers and the latest do with regard to the feminists and their swooning. But how is it that a nation can forget so easily the so-called "heavily" researched "gender differences" in math, science and "education" in general brought about by hard-core Feminist Carol Gilligan and her musty band of Saddakers (sp) which utterly altered the nature of math and science programs and "tests" certainly in California. (And then there are the Chicaco U studies which actually show brain/cranial differences between the sex. Oh my, such an alarming fact.)
Girls were given their own "programs", gender exclusive" based on the premise that girls "learn" differently. And the entire matter of Multiple Choice questions: that girls do better if they are "permitted" to test in female ways.
Just one sample: (The web is loaded to the gills with 'GENDER DIFFERENCE" material)

Anyone who in anyway disagreed with feminist orthodoxy back then was crucified via shrieking and loud braying of: Sexist! You Hate Women! Carol Gilligan was one such of their "heroines".
I wonder how many specially-tax-payer funded "special enrichment" courses for girls is still an extension of the public ed system, as a result.
The feminists DEMANDED, ASSERTED and used few to dubious studies to vaunt the notion that girls and boys learn differently. And ARE different. The feminists railed in the public square and throughout the institutes of education that girls were superior to boys but weren't allowed to be due "overwhelming oppressive", male-biased tests, teachers, programs.
Could it be that some of these femmes now in teaching position at Harvard are furious with Mr. Summers for even suggesting that the topic be open for discussion, were themselves members of exclusive "gender" programs and because they couldn't learn any other way? No wonder they can't agree to sensible discourse on the subject:
Time to bring on a debate between Carol Gilligan and the wonderful Christina Hoff Sommers. Recuse yourself, Mr. Summers! Bring on the debate!
I, for one, would certainly like an accounting of my taxpayer dollars, NOW, RETRO, if indeed the Feminists are now asserting there aren't differences.
