"Moonbat" is a term in perjorative applied to looney lefties (wing-nut is used in same to describe hard righties). Libertarians claim the term "moonbat" came from them. I was curious, and did some digging.
There was a debate in June 2003 amongst George Monbiot, John Lloyd, and Samizdata's Perry de Haviland.
Monbiot is a raver, in England, for socialism and ONE WORLD ORDER. No doubts he pronounces his name Monbiat. Seems one of the other debators on the panel... helped his name along whilst in mid-debate. Touche!
