Hillary keeping her nose clean for 2008 bid

You go, Hil!
Senator's 'honesty' rating jumps in new poll

Associated Press in NY Daily News

Almost two-thirds of New York voters see Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton as honest and trustworthy, up from 45 percent who viewed her that way just before she was elected to the Senate in 2000, an independent statewide poll reported Wednesday.

The Quinnipiac University Polling Institute survey, like other recent statewide polls, also found the former first lady beating either former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani or Gov. George Pataki in her expected bid for re-election next year.

Neither of the Republicans has shown any interest yet in the Senate race and all three of them are considered potential presidential contenders in 2008.

I know this one will depress my friend, TrekMedic... But it has to be said. No dummy, our former First Lady.

This is a woman who knows that a track record can be the death of a politician running for the top job in the USA. Since her election as NY's Senator, I've been watching her move cautiously to center left. And, IMHO, I believe that's to provide a solid, unshakable foundation for a Presidential bid in 2008.

And, if the polls in NY are correct, this is a strategy that is working.

Granted, so much can happen before 2008's Presidential elections. But it's looking more and more like Hillary could be a formidable foe for any Republican candidate groomed for Bush's replacement. And I have to say... this does not make me a happy camper. For I have no doubt she could revert to her true socialist self once the Presidental seal is in her hands.

TM251 says "(deleted explicitive!) (deleted explicitive!)" And,..ponders,...

1) Nobody said the people of the great Socialist state of NY were all that smart, and 2) I wonder if Bill bought that poll, like he bought all the votes in New Square NY back in 2000?
