Kerry "Cheered"? Show me pix please...

Kerry cheered in Baghdad
Decries Bush team's 'blunders'
Once criticized for war stance, he says force alone won't win

Only the SF Chronicle could come up with this bogus "cheered" headline and still keep a straight face. As a matter of fact, I haven't been able to find another article about Mr. Kerry's reception in Baghdad other than this crock of manure. Perhaps it was less than newsworthy after all.

Let's examine what was actually said about Mr. Kerry's reception to warrant this glowing headline...

Kerry, who repeatedly charged during the presidential campaign that President Bush had botched the war effort, was greeted warmly by U.S. soldiers in Baghdad.

Greeted warmly. Let's see... no cheering there.
U.S. soldiers approached Kerry inside the restaurant of the Rashid Hotel, asking him to pose for photographs and sign T-shirts. The star-struck restaurant manager insisted on serving Kerry the restaurant's specialty, a plate of grilled chicken and lamb.

Later in the day, Kerry met with about 20 soldiers based in his home state, including reservists from the 356th Engineer Detachment and 126th Aviation Company of the Massachusetts Army National Guard at Camp Victory, where soldiers are bivouacked in luxury villas once inhabited by Saddam Hussein and his loyalists.

(snip)

Um... no cheering there either. In fact, this is the only time the article offers up a number of soldiers present. And what did the 2004 election loser discuss?

"How living conditions had changed since Sen. Kerry was in Vietnam," said David Wade, the senator's communications director.

There's a gripping subject foremost on the minds of troops... a trip thru memory lane comparing living conditions.

Read this BS and make up your own mind. No glowing photos of Kerry, surrounded by adoring troops. No massive media machine offering up proof that troops preferred Kerry's wishy washy war profile over the determined Commander in Chief.

What was abundantly clear was that Kerry has not "learned", as he promised the MSM in his interview not long ago. He went to Baghdad and bashed Bush yet again - a leader who draws crowds of respectful soldiers whenever he is in their midst.

Cheering? Kerry and San Francisco could only dream of such a reception. I'll believe it when they show me the throngs of admirers in pictures.
