Third Circuit and the Solomon Amendment

WHAT! a disgusting and lousy decision! Good read on it here

Effectively, now, and thanks to the BS PC-lawyers, Feds must give "military" funds to schools but ban military recruiters -- in order that campus sensitivities are maintained according to whatever is the ruling social "ism" at that particular college. So, in sum, federal dollars (yours and mine) specifically for military recruitment at colleges; must be given to those colleges which can ban military recruits -- lest the college pointyheads whine and cry!

---snip
" That being said, however, the law schools were far from enthusiastic about giving up the billions of dollars in public funds that they receive from Congress each year. Instead, they put forth the inherently hypocritical notion that while taking the government's money, they retain the right to spite the government's recruiters. How benevolent of them. They argue that while Congress may control the nation's purse strings, it remains constitutionally impermissible to force military recruiting upon campuses that do not desire it. They claim that the government's position is tantamount to "forced expression" or "compelled speech."

" E. Joshua Rosenkrantz, lead counsel for the appellants, was elated by the outcome. "Now every academic institution in the country is free to follow their consciences and their nondiscrimination policies." He went on to say that "Enlightened institutions have a First Amendment right to exclude bigots. In a free society, the government cannot co-opt private institutions to issue the government's message."

Exclude bigots? By real, non-Orwellian terms, that ought to disclude a great many academics from being employed. But a military recruiter? A bigot? I don't tinka so.

What a horrid case brought by pointy-headed obviously emasculated shemale lawyers, and seconded by a delusional, if not wicked, 3rd Circuit.

However! The military is no fool. My money's on Republicans and the military. What's that ole chestnut about winning the battle but losing the war...ahem? This so-called liberal victory will not stand. Perhaps on paper it will; and it will look quite PC.

It ain't over.
