Mata Musing:
Did you notice that the inaugration ceremonies in Afghanistan went down with no violence? This despite a who's who of attendence that any Islamic terrorist would love to murder as a feather in his "kopiah".
The smooth transition, on the heels of a quiet election, gives creedence to the notion that the Taliban in Afghanistan talks a good game, but are not capable of carrying out their widely publicized threats, aided by a MSM hungry for their every word.
BTW... for those not hip on timelines, we went into Afghanistan in October 2001. The elections and inauguration came about in a little over three years.
By contrast, we are heading for an election in Iraq... a much larger nut to crack... in just over a year and a half.
