The power of the consumer. Ah, a joy to behold.

Americans *love* to see the jovial Salvation Army bell ringers. I remember it since childhood. Truth be told, I was disgruntled with the Red Cross long before the 9:11 scandal, and because of that, all my donations generally go to the Salvation Army instead.

It has to make you proud to be an American. We can influence the corporate giants with our pocket books. And we are truly a compassionate nation with our heads on straight and values in order... most of the time. And all without gov't mandates! Go no.
