Mackubin Thomas Owens on the "Troubled Vet"

The 'Troubled Vet' Returns

Mackubin T. Owens debunks and analyzes the "troubled" vet returning to the US -- the latest in the liberal fashion show attempting to make the scene.

Why is it liberals are unable to hold two thoughts in their heads simultaneously? How is it we all adhere to the adage that challeges make or break a person --bringing out his best and/orhis worst of that which is already there within a person -- but somehow that knowledge is absent when it comes to anti-American, anti-Iraq war writings by liberals?

For better or worse, today's soldiers seem destined to be linked in the public mind to those who fought in Vietnam. So while we need to learn from the Vietnam experience and ensure that the men who have borne the brunt of the war against terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq are afforded the best medical and psychiatric care possible, neither they nor the country are well served by predictions of a coming mental health crisis predicated on flawed studies from the Vietnam era.

I think it is liberals who are unbalanced. Perhaps socialism is a mental disorder, no?
