Why we're talking about immigration....

Do you wonder why the hot topic is immigration of late? Because Congress doesn't want the American voter thinking about Congressional corruptions, lobbying and ethics reform that was the hot button and "Republican scandal" just weeks ago. Uh... like why did that subject disppear off the radar screen?

Truth is, it was never a 'Republican" scandal. It was a Congressional scandal. And to prove it so, the majority of our evenly split Senate just couldn't make the committment to clamp down on their own fingers in the pie.

Read it and weep... Then think very carefully why we're being led around by our noses by Congress and the MSM with new blown up stories about immigration issues that,
according to the sacred polls, the American voter just doesn't think is that big of a deal.

A majority of Senators, for example, voted against the establishment of an Office of Public Integrity for the Senate. The Office was proposed to address the biggest ethics problem facing the institution, the absence of a publicly credible and publicly acceptable system for enforcing the Senate ethics rules.

The defense of the current system by Senate Ethics Committee Chairman George Voinovich (R-OH) came down to the public equivalent of ''Trust us. We're doing a good job. We just can't tell you what we are doing.''
