McKinney hires a lawyer...

UPDATE ON McKINNEY

Haven't found a news source outlet for this yet, but I caught la femme McKinney on CNN Headline news this AM with her attorney... both spewing venom about her being "assaulted" by the Capitol police for racial reasons.

The officer taking the brunt of Ms. McKinney's cell phone and wrath is considering pressing charges. U.S. Attorney's office in Washington says they are considering possible charges against McKinney, and will decide whether to prosecute her as early as next week.

McKinney dishing it out thick in response... insinuating she's never recognized and
is harassed because she is... but of course... black. Forget that Congressional ID pin she apparently refuses to wear. Her ego can't seem to accept the fact that every Capitol Hill enforcement officer hasn't got her face memorized and included on their Christmas Card list.

In a Friday afternoon news conference, Georgia Representative Cynthia McKinney (D-4th) said that the altercation between she and a Capitol police officer was started by the officer "inappropriately touching and stopping" her after she walked past a security checkpoint.

Prior to the news conference that, at times, seemed more like a church revival meeting, one of McKinney's lawyers, James W. Myart Jr. said that her problems with police are racial in nature.

“Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, like thousands of average Americans across this country, is, too, a victim of the excessive use of force by law enforcement officials because of how she looks and the color of her skin,” Myart said. “Ms. McKinney is just a victim of being in Congress while black.”

McKinney’s office on Thursday afternoon, released a video clip from the independent documentary “American Blackout,” in which McKinney is questioned by a Capitol police officer who does not immediately recognize her. In the clip, she implies that the questioning is because she is black.

Standing with McKinney were actors Harry Belafonte and Danny Glover, who both spoke in support of McKinney.

Hummm... McKinney serving time and away from the halls of Congress? What will the Palestinians do without the presence of one of their true champions.

Imagine if they let her off, it will create a situation where the officers will be worried about... doing their job!

Now just EVERY black person gets to go around security?

What if someone goes by quick enough and just manages to go around with security being worried about physically stopping them. Then puts on and decides to march back and forth in front of her office wearing the KKK sheets! She would have the heads of security... and with good reason. But if you take away their apparent right to stop people you cannot prevent such a thing!

I wish I was the President right now. I would schedule appointments day after day at the Capitol. Of course cameras go wherever the President is. And day after day I would either go through security, or make it a point to go around and get out my ID to stop and allow the officer to view it and ask for permission to continue.

I think he has better things to do. lol (But just 1 or 2 times Mr. President?)

I doubt she'll find many on her side for this one, mdcon. Police shouldn't be expected to remember faces. In fact, for them NOT to check on those they don't know only increases the risk for the other Congressional members. Where will she find a kindred spirit that wants to issue her a free pass to bypass security measures in that body?

Personally I think that Capitol Police should advise Congress to issue a memo that anyone NOT wearing their ID pin is subject to search and ID verification... even if they do know who their asses are!

Chutzpah. Then again, no surprise from the racist McKinney. She'll turn this into a story yet, eh? Should have been a passing tidbit.
