Congress has become little more than a collection of spoiled, unruly children. While Dems continue to parrot baseless, partisan polls stating the majority of the "American public" are against the Iraqi conflict, the past elections have shown exactly the opposite. And this just riles the elected elitists to no end.
Polls.... how and why did they become such an influence in the pols actions? Ask 1000 people and that's indicative of all of us? Horse manure. Reality is, the only poll that truly reflects "the American public" is the ballot box.
Speaking as one of those "American public" they so love to quote, cutting and running in Iraq is not an option. And bravo to the soldier, Colonel Danny Bubp, who took it upon himself to chastise Congress.
Yes yes... I'm sure mistakes have been made in this conflict. Just as they have been made in every conflict prior to this. But our military and leadership adapt, and the successes are mirrored in the faces of Iraqis - voting on their first Constitution, and finding ways to unite despite their secular differences.
And what's this "we need a plan" bit? "THE" plan is the same as it has always been... train the Iraqis to defend themselves, make sure their new gov't in in place, then leave. And if they want us to leave sooner, we'll go at their request.
Now what is so confusing about this "plan"? Seems logical to me.
However it escapes the elite Congressional steeltrap minds that not everything runs on schedule, and often deadlines must be revised or extended. Ever try remodeling or building a home? One has a plan, but how often are these things done on schedule? Is is any different for a war strategy?
Does anyone of these idiots take into consideration that we train Iraqis, and terrorists blow up hundreds of them at a time? Occasionally it is one step forward and two steps back for the Iraqi fighting force. Do you see them whining about cutting and running?
What an al Jazeera broadcast this scene would have made. Congress is doing it's utmost to be an embarrassment for America. It's amazing this country isn't completely disfunctional with bozos like this on the publics' payroll.
What is truly significant after this ridiculous brawl on Capital Hill is, after all the Dems profiling for the "bring the troops home" argument, they know that is not the answer. Again, lots of hot air, but no solutions. What this event did was force the Dems to go on the record, voting against their own empty solutions and criticisms.
We can not cut and run. Instead we will follow "the plan" - which is to bring the troops home when the job is done. However it's timetable will not be broadcast thru the MSM and loose lips of desperate for power Congressmen and women to our enemies.
WASHINGTON, Nov. 18 - Republicans and Democrats shouted, howled and slung insults on the House floor on Friday as a debate over whether to withdraw American troops from Iraq descended into a fury over President Bush's handling of the war and a leading Democrat's call to bring the troops home.
The battle boiled over when Representative Jean Schmidt, an Ohio Republican who is the most junior member of the House, told of a phone call she had just received from a Marine colonel back home.
"He asked me to send Congress a message: stay the course," Ms. Schmidt said. "He also asked me to send Congressman Murtha a message: that cowards cut and run, Marines never do."
Democrats booed in protest and shouted Ms. Schmidt down in her attack on Representative John P. Murtha of Pennsylvania, a Vietnam combat veteran and one of the House's most respected members on military matters. They caused the House to come to an abrupt standstill, and moments later, Representative Harold Ford, Democrat of Tennessee, charged across the chamber's center aisle to the Republican side screaming that Ms. Schmidt's attack had been unwarranted.
"You guys are pathetic!" yelled Representative Martin Meehan, Democrat of Massachusetts. "Pathetic."
The measure to withdraw the troops failed in a 403-to-3 vote late Friday night.

BTW... the three who voted to bring them home immediately were Democrats Jose E. Serrano (N.Y.), Robert Wexler (Fla.) and Cynthia McKinney (Ga.). Six other Democrats -- none of them from Maryland or Virginia -- voted "present. Evidently not even "stand up" enough to express an opinion.
