Capitol Hill Graveyard: Hillary

Tim Cavanaugh has a "reasoned" good article today concerning Senator Hillary's run for the Whitehouse:

How doomed is Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) in her ambition to become the next President of the United States? So doomed that when Slate's Jacob Weisberg sets out to write a contrarian assessment disputing all the anti-Hillary doomsayers, even he has to concede that Hillary's effort is going nowhere. The junior senator from New York turns out to have many appealing qualities (if we define "appealing" as broadly as her husband defined the verb to be). Clinton's a stalwart liberal hawk; she's an aggressive centrist willing to match big-government solutions with big business glad-handing; she can hold up lefty positions on abortion and CAFTA while scolding a hapless nation for its entertainment choices.

However! On a bright note, SFgate Stewart M. Powell, Hearst Newspapers, reports that:

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., would do better than Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., against potential 2008 Republican presidential rivals John McCain and Rudolph Giuliani -- but would still lose

The problem with all this media "spec-Hill-ation" is that they are the same that vastly predicted a Kerry win.

Like, what do these bozos know anyway, Alia?

I can see a valiant attempt by Clinton to keep her nose and Senate record clean for archival dirt in anticipation of the run. But in the end, she reminds me much of Hanoi Jane. Tainted in too much of a way that will do her WH ambitions in.

Personally I'm not up for another round of Clinton scandals in the news.... yawn. Been there, done that.

Then again, some might see this as a way to get Teflon Bill in office again, even if by proxy. Could be a very close call.

All in all, it will take a Republican opponent who does more than fog a mirror to beat her.

lol. Read something yesteray.. Apparently Bill is telling the story that long ago he told Hillary not to marry him; that it would ruin any political ambitions she might have.

Read that, and instant brain connection to that scene in "Titanic" with Leo letting lose of the raft, and sinking to "belows".

Each story coming out lately re Dems -- has these really creepy visual "connections" to Hollywood Movies, Mata!
