CA: Peace Rally Ends in Violence

LOS ANGELES -- A peace rally ended in violence Wednesday afternoon at a Los Angeles high school. A fight occurred at Thomas Jefferson High School during a community-sponsored effort to create a human chain as a show of unity. Police broke up the confrontation involving students.

Authorities said four students were taken into custody. One student was arrested on charges of resisting arrest. Police said the fight stemmed from a dispute involving a stolen cell phone.
The protest was in response to a rash of violence at the school.
