Schwarzenegger associates say in the age of modern communication, Bustamante's concerns are unfounded. Also, the Times reports that the governator has access to a private jet, meaning he can return to Sacramento at the drop of a hat.
Cox says his bill is a reflection of these modern times.
"I thought it was just common sense in today's age of instant communications," he told the paper, noting the current law is an outmoded 1800s-era requirement. "The only negative feedback I have gotten is from the lieutenant governor."
Bustamante had visions of CREATING the Crisis to land atop the Governor's Desk. Oh the peril of it all... (And drat that Governor and his little jet too!) Dems were so hoping to landslide the Governor via their usual plots and ploys. Alas... Alas...
