Indonesia wants foreign troops
helping tsunami victims out

The audacity of third world country despots nevers ceases to amaze me. Military personnel from three countries rush to aid Indonesian victims with manpower, supplies, medical experts and transport. Not long after, the world moves to offer debt relief.

And how is the world's consideration received?

Indonesia gov't officials say we've got three months to finish the work, then go...

Vice President Yusuf Kalla said foreign troops should leave tsunami-hit Aceh province on Sumatra island as soon as they finish their relief mission, staying no longer than three months.

"Three months are enough. In fact, the sooner the better," Kalla was quoted by the state Antara news agency as saying.

Even the free press (including the most liberal left leaning...) isn't immune to Indonesia's cold shoulder. *All* foreign reporters are to be confined to major cities in the provinces only. The "free press window", opened in the wake of the tsunami, has again slammed shut.

Already Indonesia has their military accompanying UN aid missions, and have posted "liaison officials" on foreign navy ships, military and civilian aircraft that are bringing supplies in to the victims.

As Indonesia slaps the faces of countries who rushed to their aid in times of disaster, they have the hutzpah to demand yet more.

The vice president said Aceh in the near future would need foreign medical workers and engineers instead of military assistance.

"Foreign troops are no longer needed," he said.

What Kalla overlooks is the fact that our military is composed of medical workers and engineers who's tasks include missions just like this. And if that isn't good enough for him, then I'd love to say "go it alone, or with your Islam terrorists buds, Bubba".

Unfortunately, those that pay the price for such a retort are the innocents. And the free nations of the US, Japan and Australia are too big-hearted to allow them to be deprived of their needs in reponse to the arrogance and stupidity of their leadership.

But boy... is it tempting!

U-P-D-A-T-E!! Say "buh-bye!"

As a result of Indonesian officials flexing their Islamic muscle, the USS Abraham Lincoln is the first to steam out of the Indonesia's waters . The country refused to allow the pilots to resume training missions while in Indonesia's airspace. Additionally, the American military efforts in rebuilding have been minimized.

U.S. Marines have scaled back their plans to send hundreds of troops ashore to build roads and clear rubble. The two sides reached a compromise in which the Americans agreed not to set up a base camp on Indonesia or carry weapons.

The latter has my blood boiling. No base camp? Fine. But no weapons for self defense in an obviously hostile nation?

YOU MUST BE KIDDIN' ME!! Who the hell agreed to that insanity?

Instead, not only are the American military personnel entrusting their security to the Indonesian military, so are the Japanese and Australians.

This better be a misprint!
