Iraqi "disillusioned" with the Left

How the Left Betrayed My Country - Iraq

... last paragraph

And so I have become disillusioned, at least with the Leftists I met in Iraq. So noble in their rhetoric, they looked to the stars, yet ignored what was happening around them, caring only about what was inside their minds. So glorious in their ideals, their thoughts were inflexible and their deeds unnecessary, even harmful. In the end, they proved to me how dogma and fanaticism had transform peace activists into—lifeless peace “statues.”

I love posting good stuff. And of late, most of the optimism in the world is coming from coalition troops and Iraqis themselves.

Mr. Hasan's commentary in Front Page Magazine is one such gem of optimism, highlighting the under-reported Iraqi excitement for the future, and relief from the tyranny of the past.

However I personally found his revelations about the angry agenda of "peace activists" even more optimistic. For awhile there I had almost given up hope that Iraqi's would clearly see who are their friends, and who are their passive enemies. I call peace activists passive enemies as they do not randomly murder and behead, but the results of their activities aid the quest of the militants, and contribute to a passive defeat by eroding hope in the region.

And that is a prospect no more enticing than rule under fundamental Islamic terrorists.

This is a fabulous read all the way thru. Read and be of good cheer that oh so many most affected by military actions in Iraq not only see light at the end of the tunnel for the efforts, but remembered who was there to support them... if only in words and hope.
