French reporter missing in Iraq
A reporter for the French newspaper Liberation has
gone missing in Iraq along with her Iraqi assistant. This only two-three weeks following the release of the two abducted male French journalists.

Considering Malbrunot and compadre's 124 days of incarceration, plus the Clouseau-like attempts at their release by both the French gov't and private duo, if Ms. Florence Aubenas and her assistant are indeed kidnapped, their release may hinge again upon their appearance to in cahoots with the terrorists' cause, and how much the French gov't wants to cough up this time for their release.
It was only three days ago (Jan 3rd) that I posted the IHT article that revealed Malbrunot, in a moment of instinctive weakness, wished for an American rescue while being transported from cell to cell.
If you did not read this article in it's entirety, there was a very revealing fact not seized upon by the MSM around the world. Malbrunot saw the terrorist map of the al Qaeda desired caliphate state... stretching from Spain to China. Malbrunot, so very French with his anti-American and anti-Iraqi freedom views, knows in his heart of hearts that France is no safer than any other country. It too lies in the path of destruction.
His jailers' references to bin Laden were frequent, he said. A guard insisted to Malbrunot that it was the Christians who were waging war against the Muslims. "Our objective," the jailer went on, sketching a European map of the future that squares with Al Qaeda's notions, "is to overthrow all the Arab rulers, and to return to the caliphate [Islamic rule] from Andalusia [Spain] to the border with China."
At some point it will behoove the French and their government to come to grips... they have no "get out of jail free" card merely because of their gov't's refusal to participate in fighting terrorists in Iraq. In fact, they may be higher profile targets now because of their willingness to negotiate and give either cash or political influence as payment for the lives of their citizens.
What fools.
