I'm now DSL-enabled; but not the very best connection -- it's good enough. I spent hours trotting this non-laptop sucker components all over the place trying for the best connection. My email is still temporarily messed up; but I will get to that.
Socialized Versus Civilized
Hokay.. checked with my son -- he was called a "white SOB" yesterday. I tangled with the same chick at the DMV (updating my license). This chick has a major attitude. She's black, and if for one moment our races were reversed, she'd hate herself. But then, I watched her "deal" with an elderly black man, and I saw clearly her problem is HER; it ain't a race thing, necessarily. She's got a major attitude; a grudge against everyone and everything. Yep, I got on her case over some nasty info she gave me the last time I was in. She was not happy.
But so what? She isn't happy anyway. Not a thing I can say or do to change that except to ensure she knows I'm not putting up with her attitude, nor allowing it anywhere near me.
This morning's rant -- I was trying to get to this issue: Socialized Versus Civilized
Teacher's Unions have been screeching that homeschooled kids aren't "socialized". Don't get "socialization".
I think there's a word skewing in definition and usage. My son is civilized. That he doesn't want to hang-out with others does not mean he isn't civil nor does it mean he isn't socialized. He's never been overly social (unlike my daughters). But he's polite, he's welcoming, he's friendly. He has always like his own path.
Now.. why is this grating on me? I've always known about this "bs" from the skrools.
It's because I'm now getting basic channels for the first time since 1993. I'm getting to Rip Van Wrinkle myself.
And you know what I see? I see that the MSM is "socialized" but not civilized in re President Bush and Republicans. Get that?
Socialized; but not civilized. Means they are "hanging" with Republicans -- putting up their face; but not really being objectively fair. Civilized, is entirely another matter.
And that's what the problem is with the MSM. They don't see it; they don't get it. They are SOCIALIZED. lol. But not CIVILIZED.
Take a look at what Dems have been up to?

Lefties -- what is their blind spot; what is their problem? Socialized NOT civilized.
In short form: they have a personality disorder morphed writ large into a social disorder. It's why they lie, they deceive. It's why there is no soul to the Democrat Party. They've been felled by their own "skewing": Socialized.
Civilized is something they don't understand except for the mere "gestures" and appearances of "civilized".
I've seen "socialized". It means going "no where". Especially when there's no titullar head telling them what each of them stands for. Or should believe in.

Boy, I hate to say this since it seems so unkind a thought, but welcome back to the 20th century, Alia! And just in time to catch up with the 21st, I might add. heh heh You have officially left the comfortable nest of talk radio.
And with your re-entry comes my ability to "share" my rants, horror and disgust with the MSM a little bit more in depth with you. That's the "unkind" thought. Oh so sorry! LOL

Angel -- grin and schadenfreude it all you want -- BUT! I ain't watching a whole LOT of the MSM. Periodically, the MSM brings news, actual news; but Mostly I figure they are an ARM of the pharmaceutical lobbies -- designed to raise blood pressures, depression, and a host of other "ills".
"news all the time" equals "trouble-making". No person alive can realistically live with "news" all the time. What they can live with is a bit of this, a bit of that. MSM tries to do this; but it's got that patina of "hollywood" hanging over it; therefore it isn't interesting to me.
One thing I'll give NC news? They do coverage local stuff quite well. Of course, I love reading the local newspapers: Pigs getting stolen. That kind of stuff. However, keep your eyes on a town called "Carey". It's Marin County-wanna be. Libs are shaking that town. It's near Raleigh.
Oh! And a high school band HAS gotten the funds to march in President Bush's inauguration. It's a big deal here. I couldn't be more pleased.
But the MSM, Mata... really. I saw a tad of Dan Rather last night. He's a sneaky, creepy little tabloid emotional manipulator. He inspires my "click" finger on the remote to seek out "greener pastures" so to speak.
