Well, erm, Worldnetdaily is reporting that SecDef Rumsfeld said the flight downed in PA on 911 was shot down.
Was it? Was it not? Hm.
It should have been shot down. But under a Clintinoid Presidency, the Waffleusa Libs would have demanded we attempt to try to "talk" those terrorists out of "raping" the US. And at that time, had it been reported that our military was ordered to shoot down that flight -- can you imagine the outcry? "People don't kill people -- planes do!" And the lefties would have demanded that all airplanes be banned. Riiiight? lol. No, of course not. They wouldn't demand planes be banned, but because, um, THEY USE 'EM! In this case, no -- they would have demanded the banning of the Military. The banning of Bush/Rumsfeld. Anything. But don't harm those terrorists!
They would have demanded that all MILITARY PLANES be banned from flying over the US, or within the US. Or allowed to fly ONLY in designated "military" flight base zones.
It's hard to keep on regaling about the single-lobeness of the pod people on the left. And since the election, I detect the fatigue in "every day people". I see it turning into a firm, resolved, fury and disgust at and with the pod people.
In other matters...
Nnnnooope. Hillary ain't gonna run. No matter how much she is feigning right of center. It won't happen. It's too late. She should have taken the floor with John Kerry. She'd have kicked his campaign into something resembling "normalcy". And possibly become veep and been able to pull the strings on Kerry.
But now? Nah, she's fundraising. It really is what she does best. So far.
The times I've been able to snatch time perusing the news and mood of the people... I'm seeing it: the tide has shifted. Permanently. These aren't pro-Hillary years coming up on us.
Not unless she can raise from the dead those 11,600 recently deceased in Sri Lanka, Sumatra, and 4 other countries; or those Americans recently murdered in a mess hall in Iraq.
The time for spin and delusion has passed. Not even a toe-hold remains for the deludinoid party to get a finger on. But! They must continue to try to keep that party alive. Why? Well, because it's their "god". And they must show "faith".

It does make one wonder: was it a slip of the tongue for what did happen? Or do we just live in a society that likes to parse everyone's word (at least the controversial ones...) to extremes?
Personally I don't have a problem if the military did shoot it down as we had ample knowledge of the terrorist plans for the flight by then. Lord knows, any fighter pilot with that order from the top must have been beyond heartsick. An ugly reality to live with.
But it sure doesn't make the actions of the passengers, bent on stopping the terrorists at the cost of their lives, any less heroes and heroines.
Not owning up to this right after the fact will go down far worse than the attempt to hide it. A fool hardy move, should the information pan out to be true.
Mata -- I'll wager dollars to donuts the plane was not shot down. But, I think Rummy is preparing Americans for the fact that things like this MAY (must) happen in the future, should America again be under attack.
